Welcome to the Rotaract e-Newsletter, a monthly communication to keep you informed of the latest developments with Rotaract worldwide and to provide information and resources to enhance your Rotaract program. World Rotaract Week: Rotaract turns 39

Dont miss the chance to celebrate World Rotaract Week! During the week of 12-18 March, Rotaract will celebrate its 39th anniversary. Rotaract clubs around the world are encouraged to partner with their sponsor Rotary clubs to commemorate the founding of the first Rotaract club on 13 March 1968. Rotaractors can increase community awareness of the program and receive recognition from Rotary International by completing these activities:

-- Making a presentation about Rotaract to a Rotary club that doesnt yet sponsor a Rotaract club

-- Inviting Rotarians to attend a Rotaract club meeting

-- Attending a Rotary club meeting

-- Conducting a joint Rotaract-Rotary club project

This week is an excellent opportunity for Rotaractors to share their hard work with local Rotarians and the entire community. Join the celebration and tell the world about Rotaract. Learn more about the history of Rotaract and download the World Rotaract Week Celebration Recognition Form at www.rotaract.org. The submission deadline is 15 April.


Rotaract Presidential Citation

RI President Bill Boyd encourages Rotaract clubs to Lead the Way and create a better future for their communities and the world. Clubs that answer his call can earn the 2006-07 Rotaract Presidential Citation. To qualify, Rotaract clubs must complete at least three activities, one of which must be community service and another international service. The sponsor Rotary club president and the district governor must sign the application form and submit it to RI no later than 15 April. Get additional details in the Presidential Citation brochure.

Update club contact information

To receive the latest Rotaract program materials, get recognized for outstanding club projects, and connect with Rotaractors around the world, please update your Rotaract clubs 2007-08 contact information online. Submitting this information electronically eliminates the need to complete the hard copy of the form that was mailed to all clubs. To ensure your club is included in the 2007-08 Worldwide Rotaract Directory, please submit this information no later than 1 May.

Rotaract Chair June Webbers message: partners in service

Dear Rotaractors and Rotarians,

The end of the calendar year is a time of celebration in many traditions. With these celebrations now well behind us, it is important to reassess goals not only in our personal and professional lives but also at the Rotary- and Rotaract-club level.

The most important event on the Rotaract calendar in the next six months is World Rotaract Week, which celebrates the founding of Rotaract on 13 March 1968. This is an important window of opportunity to publicize what Rotaract is and does. More important, it is an opportunity to strengthen the Rotary-Rotaract relationship by working on joint projects that sustain this link.

For those Rotary clubs considering the exciting challenge of starting a new Rotaract club, there is no time like the present. It will require hard work, a strong focus, and a commitment of time and energy. Rotaractors add value to Rotary. They are partners in service future Rotarians who will Lead the Way for generations to come, committed to upholding Rotarys ideals. Let us continue to embrace and support these young adults as an integral part of the family of Rotary.

Rotaract Preconvention Meeting social events taking shape

During the Rotaract Preconvention Meeting, 15-16 June in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, the Rotaract Host Committee will hold a number of optional social events. International Night at historic Olympic Cauldron Park on Friday, 15 June, will include food from around the world, live music, and karaoke. When it goes live, a link to the Rotaract Host Committee Web site, which will include details about the schedule of social events, prices, and online registration, will be posted on the Rotaract Preconvention Meeting page.

Dont miss out on fun and fellowship with Rotaractors from around the world! Rotaractors who register before 31 March will pay US$90. Please download the RI Convention registration form and mail or fax it back to RI. (Online registration is not available for Rotaractors.) Book rooms at Salt Lake City hotels online.
